SMS Consent Flow

How Dale obtains consent before sending text messages to subcontractors

Dale uses an off-website consent mechanism. Consent is not obtained through a web form — it is obtained via an introductory SMS message sent when a general contractor enrolls a subcontractor in the platform. Below is the step-by-step flow.

1
General Contractor Adds Subcontractor
The general contractor adds the subcontractor's phone number to the Dale platform as part of their existing business relationship for a construction project.
2
Dale Sends Introductory SMS
Dale automatically sends a single introductory text message to the subcontractor. This message contains all required disclosures. No project messages are sent until after the introductory message.
3
Introductory Message Contains All Required Disclosures
The introductory message includes: program name (Dale Project Notifications), sender identity (on behalf of the general contractor), message types (project scheduling, coordination, updates), frequency (approximately 2-10 messages per week during active projects), fee disclosure (message and data rates may apply), opt-out instructions (reply STOP at any time), help instructions (reply HELP for assistance), and a statement that consent is voluntary.
4
Subcontractor Chooses to Continue or Opt Out
The subcontractor's continued engagement after receiving the introductory message constitutes consent. They can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. They can also reply HELP for assistance or contact us directly.

Sample Introductory Message

Below is a representative example of the introductory SMS sent to subcontractors when they are enrolled by a general contractor:

First message sent to subcontractor
Hi [Name] — this is Dale, a project coordination service texting on behalf of [Contractor Name]. You'll receive scheduling updates, phase alerts, and job site info for projects you're working on. Expect approx. 2-10 msgs/week during active projects. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out anytime, HELP for help. Consent is not required for any purchase or service.

Possible Outcomes

Continued Engagement (Opt-In)
The subcontractor continues receiving project-related messages. They can reply STOP at any time to opt out of future messages.
Reply STOP (Opt-Out)
The subcontractor replies STOP. They receive a single confirmation message and no further texts are sent. They can also contact mason@meetdale.com or call (678) 618-1083.

Consent to receive text messages is separate from any other agreement and is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services or entering into any business relationship.

We will not sell, share, or disclose your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
